Dark Dance of Desire

By Temerity

 echo midnite's silent scream

awakened from life's mundane dream

where nightmares vanish with the day

darkness calls, "come out & play..."

"...hurry..."

"..this way..."

i dance at the feet of the eldest trees

to songs like whispers in limbs in the breeze

no one to witness save the moon & stars

creatures scurry like passing cars

"...come..."

"...dance with me..."

i feel your eyes on my skin like the sun

warm & embracing til we dance as one

my breath comes easy where your chest is home

my heart finds cadence to the rhythm of your own

"...hurry..."

"...it's late..."

i bathe your brow with acid tears

as dawn's morning light appears

i pound my fists & scream in pain

Desire flows blood as dark skies rain

"...never..."

"...sever..."

stepping back as the portals close

exit... the sanctuary of souls

but i still smell you on my skin

like a promise that the veil is thin

"...be patient..."

"...and wait..."

Midnight in the forest, a very spiritual time and place for sure. Dryads and Nyads carrying-on until all hours! Very well-written and sensual.
