Goodbye, My Heart
By Quietus
Goodbye, my heart
You were strong and brave
Even if you were love’s mistreated slave.
You
were bruised and broken
A million times
But I can’t fix you
with these silly rhymes.
They cut you up
And
spit you out
Carved their initials with a metal rout.
Kind of like how a cat
Plays with their prey
They
tortured you before their slay.
And now here
you are
Dying in my chest
Bloody and broken in your final rest.
In the end
We were both stupid, my heart
Letting silly boys tear us apart.
We’ve wasted
our time
Loving worthless guys
We never could see through their
caring disguise.
I will always remember you,
My dear friend
You were here with me until the end.
Now I say my final goodbyes
As we both depart
Oh, goodbye
to you, my dearest heart.

I'm kind of disapointed on how I ended this poem, I just feel it could have been better. But either way, I do like this one.Comments on "Goodbye, My Heart"

Wow, very good. I can relate to it, and even the way you wrote it, was like you were saying goodbye to a friend, and I found myself getting a little sad. Well done, better than a lot Ive seen.

Hi Quietus - since you're disappointed with an otherwise excellent effort, I'll volunteer to touch it up and email you the results, or not. Just let me know and give me a few days. I think you are very close to achieving something memorable here, thanks.
