Death by Corruption

By brokensme

The red sun rises in the east
And sets in the west,
Blood of another victim
Has been shed.

We all know the signs
Of those corrupted with false pride.

They tell us that we will get nowhere in this life,
That our dreams mean nothing.
They cut us deeper
Then the scars in our arms.

We know their tricks and lies,
We’ve seen it a thousand times.
But the penetrating words
Seem to break us to the core.

We cry into the mirror
As they keep their silver spoon ne’er
And then they break us deeper,
We loose what we held on so dear.

We have nothing,
We have just lost everything.

One last look into the mirror is all it takes,
Because it is then when we totally break,

For tonight we have dug into ourselves deeper,

We dig deeper and deeper,
Until we bleed out,
And we meet death head on.
