A Small Act of Defiance

By Crush_With_Eyeliner

Today
I will
outlive
the moon.
See the
dawn rise
to the East.
Bow in
an awkward
tradition
I've never
expressed
until now.

Walk through
this
not-so-metaphoric
fog;
along what
used to be
a beach;
beneath
a brightening
sky.

A small
act of
defiance
against the
last citadel
of the night.
