I Am, charade

By Malcholm Dark

I am rock-hard reverence
Yet, the ice has cracked.
I am steak-driven defiance
Yet, the wall is paper thin.
I am stead-fast reliance
Yet, there are cuts in the wire.
I am steel-fisted virtue
Yet, the foundation has crumbled.
I am indomitable
Yet, the sin was absolute.

I found buried treasure
The sweet became tainted.
I let you inside of me
Now I am plagued.
Forever in misery
Dying each day.
Unhinged and suicidal
Razor lived fetishes.
My sins as a man
Laid bare to the bone.

Brought before the man
Chained and delivered.
Silenced by his presence
He speaks into the microphone.
"Death by massive blood loss
due to self-inflicted wounds."
The gavel bangs down
The coffin nailed shut.
I was charade, imitation of man
Forgive me!
