Things I Have Seen
By Malcholm Dark
I
have seen pillars of clouds
Spiraling columns upward
Enigmas
of purple and gray
Intense flashing, rolling thunder!
I have seen the wind curl in anger
Destruction unleashed
A howl of unrelenting death
Misery unbound!
I
have seen the earth break open
Rolling and churning in disgust
Cities crumble down
Plumes of rolling dust!
I
have seen rain turn to ice
Ice into fire-shafts
Harbingers
of death
Piercing what they befell!
I have
seen a cosmic shower
Swiftly hurling galactic rock
Parallel
with the oceans
Whales gave way and cried!
I
have seen the flash and bolt of the destroyer
My mortal self
ripped into oblivion
And on that day I wept because...
there
was so much I had not seen!
There comes a moment
A precipice of time.
Witness rejoice
Our inevitable
doom.

Eerything on Earth has a eventual end and though the legacy you leave behind might stay for half a century, it will evntually fade into eternity. I love this poem because it ties alot of my thoughts together and it shows me I am no the only one that thinks this way.

An impressive write, all of the elements culminating into one chaotic package, really gives off a sense of doom, well done Dark.

Um WOW! This kind of left me speechless. You spoke of wonders and disturbing truth. Bringing so many peices of art, sadness, and emotion....twisting them into the lovliness that is this poem. Something about it just really stuck with me. =)
