Dreamer Of Time
By Malcholm Dark
Who has seen the majestic sanded empire
When Pharaoh still ruled its'
boundaries?
A land yet unscathed by the hand of time
Its'
people enchanting and so magnificent!
Who has seen the
monoliths erected into pyramids
Tips piercing upward through
the roof of the sky?
Great stone sphinxes, omnipotent, watch
over a kingdom
And pharaoh is content--The Nile flows boundless!
--Somewhere within the travels of our mind
rides the
crusader, a dreamer of time.
Who has seen the roaming
hills of another king
Where his mighty falcons soar an English
sky?
An armored man astride his stalwart horse
Tests his
steel within the limits of battle!
Who has seen an intrepid
castle along the river's edge
The sounds of trumpets, a clash
of knights?
A spilling of blood, the pain of death, a victory cry
The battle won ...a breath was taken!
--Somewhere within
the travels of our mind
rides the crusader, a dreamer of time.
Ride crusader, ride! Pound the beaten paths of our minds
Unlock the treasures from the past.
Smile dreamer, smile!
Revere the spectacles lost by time
For they shall be glorious!

Fitting title. You open the passageway to a dreamland, one that has seen bloodshed..

You make me want to ride with the wind to my back and hear the churches bells. Call forth a European king, and look him in the eye. Brawl with the bravest and clash with the tide. This poem makes me want to go on my own journey of discovery to a day when srength was prime.
