absence less fond...
By DIATRICUS
I stress
I stress and stress and
shift between your sweet caress
I find myself sauntering through
lofty wasteland of subtle empty springs
silhouetted 'gainst soft riddles
propped up by the man who fiddles
with no regrets
where is that stream of tranquility?
where are those birds of winter that sing so sweetly?
where is my muse this morning?
are you resting after a blissful night of heart beating?
am I wrong to ponder of your absence?
am I wrong to wander about, reminiscing of your scent?
am I wrong, or simply lost among your ways?
I sleep
I sleep and sleep and
shift among the perfumed sheets
I long to dream a summer's dream
yet awaken full with no respite
I long to catch the stillness of the night
and hold it in my arms
the way I used to
fall into you -
the way I used to
hold you...

has a sonnet feel with a sorrowful voice....the repetition and the alliterative nature really illuminates the push and pull of the pain, ebbing and flowing, cursing and growing......

Just published the book of essays/poetry on lulu.com: "Walk With Me Awhile" ... [note, the price is set just over my cost, so I recommend getting the "download" version, as it's far less expensive] search the Item number: 10135751 or view in my spotlight: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/mscottcampbell (may take a day or so for visibility -- lulu is currently cataloging the book, so if you don't see it right off, check again later)

Very, very pretty to look at as you go along and visualize word by word. Very still, and centered. The free rhymes were were free and very unforced. Ani is right on the money. It pitter/patters.
