Sun Flared Wisdom

By Cherry Bear

With ever escaping breath
Moments passing by
A date in time stuck out
The reason undefined

A purpose in a single pause
Smelling a sent from gray scale
Casting not a shadow on the past
Lurking in tomorrows curtain

Counting raindrops on the road
Collecting stars from the sky
Throwing pebbles in the ocean
All to waste this time

Polishing up on distant affairs
Like paint strokes on the sun
Dusting off the books of history
To read the marking on the moon

Forgetting the reason and in time the thought
Fighting for the season and feelings it brought
Frozen in a moment left better off alone
Free all entireties to find the last lost soul

Crystal tears stain the eyes
Flushing out the fragile mind
Quivering lips and limbs the same
Trying only to steady the pace

With a wondering heart set in motion
Fringing on the edge of emotion
A timed smile begin to spread
Broken quickly with cut thread

Look back not, nor forward to far
Seek for the future but hold history close
Cry but not with the world watching
Smile but beware the strangers crossing

A few simple lessons
Facts scattered in the dust
Perhaps to late, or soon enough
Try to remember even if the mind is full
This wisdom could comfort
Even help to save your soul.

Living in the moment is the only way I pulled through my darkest period. That and the knowledge that as Spock would say, " There are always possibilities." No one knows the future. Even a hopeless soul may find a surprise if he waits long enough, or even better actively looks for it. Great read. Scholar

The title drew me in right away, the images kept me along for the ride; in the end I was not disappointed in the least. I look forward to more

Absolutely adored this to death. I found myself steering away slightly solely due to the lack of flow, but it did for me what poetry is composed to do...it forced me to feel and relate. I'm favoriting this one :)
