DREAM SEQUENCE*

By lovechild

in chaotic dreams
cryptic patterns
all of the answers i seek
are scattered
but i am afraid to fall asleep
and leave my soul unguarded
so this body will not rest
until my spirit has departed

...and in some unearthly form
torn from the Universal Womb
another mortal wretch is born
wrested from the tomb
i have felt the thrill of death
i've known the agony of birth
so i long for the final breath
from the moment i choke on the first

somewhere in the place between
lies the Dreamer of this dream
wrapped in the ethereal mists of sleep
- i will not let him rest in peace-
for i have part of the puzzle solved
the patterns change
and the mists dissolve...

*this is a very old poem
