Looking Wayward

By Dr Benway

Emotional? Always
Fragile? Not likely

A long awkward glance
graffiti on the soul
bright, unyielding
yet still open to interpretation

Brave characters
padded with benign intent
completed
left as a sign of things to come

Fists full of happy endings
withheld just for kicks
scratched out on grey flat eyes
another romantic ideal
still, nothing to write home about.
