summer rain
By thelostmessenger
a tremble beneath my feet.
a flash before my face.
a distant echo.
pitter
[pitter]
patter
[patter]
angry on my shoulders
it falls.
my hair,
soaking,
flies past my eyes
sticking awkwardly
to my cheek.
the earth,
quenched,
slides under my bare feet
as I dance
in the heavy air.
the clouds are still,
lifeless and grey,
but the rain,
charged with emotion
hits the muddy soil
with demand,
hits my face
and washes clean,
purifies me.
and all too soon,
I begin to dry,
and I wait,
and wait,
for another summer rain.

I love this, its said their are 2 types of people, people who get wet in the rain and people that feel the rain. I was always the one that felt it and I think you do too.

A gorgeous melody here. I could almost hear and taste the rain, but I definitely sensed its presence. Again, gorgeous with a lilting, lingering, and yearning feeling towards the end. Almost melancholy, but at the same time an almost certain hopeful feeling because the rain is certain to come again, whether or not we are here to enjoy its many pleasures. And always, the rain will serve as a voice to those who aren't with us or here anymore.
