The Frozen Throne

By Redemption

"Icicled peaks as far as the eye can see
I will reign this place alone
Cold blew into the valley wall
Snow was deeper there..."
-Immortal (Mountains Of Might)

I sit atop my frozen throne
High above the snow drifts below
I see them span far and wide
Blanketing all life with cold concealment

There are no tracks here
Representation of life found nowhere
Any sign was blown away by arctic gales
And snuffed out by the snow flakes of time

I reign alone atop my frozen throne
Deep in the heart of winter eternal
Here the sun no longer kisses
Just the cold light which defines bitter nights

No movement I've sighted years long
Just the inching of the mighty glaciers
That seek to find their place amongst the seas
None other, all frozen in place

I exist forever on my frozen throne
Older than the wisest Northern winds
Living onwards till the last winters season
Watching below me, the stroms blowing

And the only sound I hear
The cries of the wind banshees
Singing the chilling preludes
To the next coming blizzard

I watch from my frozen throne
Atop the highest mountains I lie
Above the coldest airs I sleep
Yet never restless, I dwell above

My frozen throne, a dancing malestrom
High above the peaks of Ice
You can see my watchful eye,
The Northern Lights soaring under the winters Moon

Note:Inspired by those lines from the Immortal song 'Mountains Of Might'
