Weeping Angels

Ends a labor; begins a death
Child is born bursting into tears; man dies in silence
Baptism in water; baptism of fire

The inevitability about the ceasing of life was forgotten
Ignored, avoided, blinded, deafened and muted
Trivialized into a illusory ritual of passage
Demented ilusion, mad alienation
Insane reason, frivolous reflection
There were so many eras of Humanity
That all humanity had been extinguished
The dead are buried in the memory of the living
Sealed in thick wood, dense cement and oblivion memorials
No one wants to remember the defunct, no one wants to be haunted by their "fado"*
They share the crop, resigned, they gather seeds for the harvester with black cape
He walks in their midst; yielded, they look the other way and pretend not to see
They look again, apathetic, and who were there went with him

And the angels weep
They keep company to those that are already gone
Sentries petrified by the sadness they bear
They weep chores of wail in silence of loneliness
For those that are seduced by the inevitable
Those that fall asleep
Knowing that they'll rise no more
Welcome fatality as triviality
