The bitter sadness and the reveal in the fourth cluster of lines (I hesitate to call it a stanza) are painful- but not in the sappy sort of way. It's like a visceral, literal pain. Brilliant piece. - "The first stanza really produced a truly unpleasant flavor to the taste buds in my eyes. I don't mean that in a negative way at all either.
