.Thorned.Lilac Disaster.
By K_Love
I cut my throat on rose thorns.
Hoping some sort of voice would sprout through the wounds.
But I only bled you dandelions.
I crawled through the flowers last night.
Trying to find the roots that could hold us back together.
Digging in the sand trying to find anything solid.
I fell through dew-damped leaves.
Next to an unused railroad track.
Hoping to find you lilacs out of torn apart daises.
But as I plucked you a wound.
It crumbled in shaking hands.
And the rain on my cheeks never tasted so bitter.
& All I ever wanted was beauty.
I heard you singing on top of the bridge that day.
As you plucked daisy wings into blue skies.
& I swore all I wished that day were to fly.
But I stitched every white petal onto a thin green stem.
Hoping that falling apart didn’t have to mean forever.
Carried it gracefully with soft hands just to make you proud.
I laid it on the ground under a cool night.
Hoping that when you’re searching for your words through bedded gardens.
You’ll find the perfect sentence to fill your wounds.
& All I ever wish is for the lines in the song to be heard.
While lying under cloudy skies knowing that perfection doesn’t come in
beauty.
& Perfecting me only made rain.
& While you’re trying to live in the present.
I’ll dream of clouded imperfections of tomorrow.
Tasting the dew from yesterday’s sun.
Digging in the sand to find the strength to grow lilacs
out of broken petals.

beautiful, though I have to wonder if the idea is that you're trying to grow a more beautiful relationship, or simply trying to find something/(one) to love beautifully
