  • "I just watched a program on prom night nightmares so to speak. Being a mom of a young teenager my heart goes out to you. I think it's really never to early to be honest, but most importantly, approachable. I hope she had a magical night, free of regrets and most of all-fun."

  • "And I dont say this because I would like to get up the girls dress - I say that because I saw way too many of my classmates a few years ago make the mistake, get messed up, then they were to scared to get help, to ask for that ride and it ruined their entire college dreams, ruined their dreams of becoming a Doctor, a Teacher, a Lawyer, a Nurse, and most of all a respected young woman."

  • "Those that do make the mistake should [have]not be[en] looked down upon and be alone; but society should have helped them, saved them, and not condemned them the second they took that first drink - we all knew it would happen so why do we just turn away as say "Not my kid" ... and then it does."

  • "this made me cry for some very odd reason. my mom gives me this kind of talks all the time. and i know that when and if i ever have a daughter, i'll talk to her about that kind of stuff too. and i should know a lot about teen pregnancies. there hasn't been one woman in my family (moms side) that hasn't had a baby when she was in her teens. i hope you and your daughter the best, she's a diamond. -mars"

  • "that's amazing. my mother never gave me any of those speeches when i was off to the prom, and formal. but i cannot express to you how many people at my high school ended up being that statistic. pregnant, hurt (in more ways than heartbreak), or the spotlight at a funeral. this was touching, and i agree with narcissa, i'm so glad that there are parents that care what their children do."

  • "most parents just project their fuck ups on the kid and slap a 'good parenting' label on for justification. excellent use of restraint. good piece."

  • "To be a mother in the 21st Century. I certainly don't envy you, and pray I will never have to read/write a piece like this to my future children."
