Of Roses and Lilies

By bloody LOVEly

Promises of lilies spread upon a mossy grave
And stones set beside a lossed one's dirt enclave
Mark the age of one man's life
One man's strife

Sometime in the future
When men are not apart
We'll win the brotherhood and the ring
And tame a wild heart

Balance desire delicately
On scales of leaflets and string
Surreptitiously aware
Of what a pebble more will bring

In time's lonely heart
Lies a dying art
And only those
Without dark woes
Will from darkness transgress into a rose.
