When It Was Just Us

By Midnight Phoenix

This heart's a sunken ship and
I can barely see above the water
These lungs are caving in
So I can't tell you what's the matter

I am barely breathing
This room feels so small
Your feather touch
Just can't break the ice at all

Inside I'm screaming and you hear me
But it's you I'm scared of here
If you could just make sure that you love me
And hold me like you care, like I care

I just want to know that I'm the only one
Unwaving under moon or sun
These words aren't mean to hurt you
If we could make love, I know I would

Though I am upside down
My stomach turning from the worries
Why can't we have it like it used to be
When it was just you and me, you and me
