Inhale. Hold. Hold. Hold. Exhale.

By lstdarkness

The spark of the
lighter lights her face,
the light orange glow
makes her eyes
shine in the cold dark air
of the October night.

Standing in the
alley behind the bar,
Anything to escape
the bumb bumb bumb
of the techno beats.
Catching a buzz
alcohol can not provide.

The heavy smoke
blown from her lips,
the smell, so sweet.
pulls me in and I
can not resist
the next hit.

The smoke weighs
down my lungs,
holding it. I can not
let this go. the feeling
so supreme, goes
straight to my head.

The healing high helps
my mind
shutdown, slide silently
into my
own little world.

Hand in hand, we
walk back into the bar,
to quench the thirst,
left in our mouths.
