Conspiracy theory(love)

By BeautifullyRuined

You were once my muse
words whispered steadily from
my heart to my hand
to write crude letters
on tattered paper

I knew i`d never lack the inspiration
as long as i let you hurt me
so i sat in silence
as you crushed my spirit

I was once a poet who lost my edge
until you pushed me to it
and then i found that hate
really had no bounds

i could write sonnets about
your smile or the
color of your eyes
but i prefer a dying angel`s pain
and graveyard lullabies

there`s something hauntingly
beautiful about despair
it`s like the wind from torn wings
sailing over your heart

or a siren who fell in love
only to find out after her lover`s
body had washed up on the rocks

all the stars have burned out
i can no longer look for love
i found it was a conspiracy that
everybody`s in on

and forever is just a word
some guy made up to talk a girl
out of her pants

it`s all fake
so why does my heart still
go pitter-pat
at a mere glance from you
