Utterly Lacking/Singularly Overwhelming

There is sadness in every stare,
Melancholy overtones within each pupil
Dressing the world bare
Coloring the sky a bleeding dark purple
There are hearts, by life’s inculcation,
Shifting to the darkest tones
Becoming lost in our body’s extension
Breaking the gravel with weight three-fold
As it drags our one being into an eternity unknown
There are winds, by ways of a lover’s breath,
Ending so...
Just beneath the whispers that can heard while we sleep
Or beneath a gaze unto something mundane that lasts too long
There are minds, by ways of mourning dreams,
Severing us indeed
From who or what creates
From who or what destroys
Even if it doesn’t matter to know the difference...
