My Angel...

By Dayer

My angel died, she lost her wings
Now darkness consumes all of me
Blinded by rage, I could not see
Numbed by death pain no longer stings
I watched in silence as pain crept
Into my angel as she slept
I tried not to, but still I wept
Those promises, I should have kept
What's done is done, it's in the past
Too bad there is no turning back
How much more suffering can I stack
Upon my shoulders, I can't last
Can't hold on, I know I should
I love her & I wish she would
Open her eyes so that I could
Love her, but she's still as wood
So now I sit here all alone
For my angel, I am crying
& my soul is slowly dying
In agony, I'll moan
