The Real Me
By A Burning God
Despite your attempts to know me,
You have only known the personalities created by me to protect the real
me
(see if that makes any sense)
You have known that of which is just a shell,
And, sadly, I must admit, you are the first among anyone whom I've met
to find and almost encounter the real me.
The person who knows that while he is just a human, he will try to better
society, if he can before he goes.
But, if you leave, the other personalites may actually take over me.
You were so close, and yet so far away from finding the real person within
this multi-shelled being. the only question is: Why did you abandon this
task?

Interesting write here. I like the "make your own metaphor" approach. It is almost as if this is reader participation poetry. I like it. -Gideon
