Beauty is... [ephemeral]

By Deadly Embrace

I don’t understand…
I’ve waited, I’ve pleaded,
To whatever “god”
I believed would listen.
Yet, still I remain,
Wounded and broken,
An entire life experience
Of words unspoken.
As tears well my eyes
Leaving my vision unclear
Only to see..
These slight fragments
Of happiness,
Crumbling before me.
Only a brief prelude..
I wish sometimes,
That time would stand still.
To capture those moments
That seem so surreal.
Those moments where
I would give my soul,
With such beauty and elegance
For your hand to hold.
But the tears
Have engulfed me,
Leaving me blind,
And completely oblivious
To these feelings inside.
That even if it were true,
And our love mended together…
“Beauty is ephemeral, pain is forever”

"Beauty is ephemeral, pain is forever" what a devistating finality those astounding words bring to this one. Crushing Hope beneath your elegant mastery of word. -Michael
