I wish sometimes...
that I were not so much like a maze,
lost within myself.
I wish sometimes...
that I were more like whatever normal is
so relationships could be easier.
I wish sometimes...
That it wouldn't hurt so much when people stabbed me
& when others held me close.
I wish sometimes...
that love didn't feel like
standing naked in the strongest wind.
I wish sometimes...
for these things I was not given,
& for what could never have been.
