The Mask of Sanity

By Zhee

Numb these fragile senses to the pain,
Bar your doors to the frigid screams,
Nail shut the distant crevices of your soul –
That may seep to taint your vacant dreams.

Close your eyes to the bleeding visions
The maimed people in your head,
Tighten the shackles around the hands
That still long to caress the dead.

Break the cobweb ridden mirrors
Revealing your disease stricken vanity,
For how else would you ever survive –
All that crumbles behind your mask of sanity…

Marvelous work indeed. I am familiar with the insane... I have seen it's true face, but managed to keep my sanity even before witnessing what I have. Still I see the horrors every day, and i'm glad that it won't overwhelm my sanity away
