Sky Fire

By Loneal

Gaze up, look there
The sky smolders fire
Somewhere far distant
My brothers, they tire

So long in the strange land
So far from what's known
Their sweat and tears fall
On a land not their own

In anger, strained fear
In deep sorrow and not
My sisters stand for them
And those fallen who've fought

There is sense and strange madness
We bring death to bring life
Loves lost, souls are snuffed
While they seek to end strife

Fancy a knight
Standing fast in the dark
No emblem bears he
But the brand on his heart

Though enveloped by night
And his eyes fail to see
Pure light guides his blows
And his lance strikes to free

Here is the purpose
A true warrior will say
As he risks his soul's fire
In a world set astray
