Renewing

There is this honey ember look within
her eyes that tells me when the time has come
to put away the clever arguments
and trick devices of my intellect.

A minute later then, when she first slips
inside the covers pulling close and warm,
we resonate inside an endless string
of pure and perfect little moments where

She purrs and murmurs quietly her locks
of jasmine splayed across my rising chest,
the rhythm of my heart and hers in soft
and quiet congregation lulling both

of us to deep forgetful sleep.
