My Worst Enemy

By Tangent Ponderings

Sometimes late at night
In my dreams I can see
The one I hate most
My worst enemy

His face is a blur
Through the fog of the night
He likes to poke fun
And runs from his fights

He hates many people
Even his dad
And sometimes himself
Isn’t it sad?

Chasing me swiftly
He faster than I
But if he does catch me
I know I will die

Choking me gently
While slitting my throat
And digging my grave while
Writing this note

“You lived a short life
Had no wife or such
You left no kids
And you didn’t do much

Though you thought you were cool
And followed the trend
No one cared about you
And you had but one friend”

Tears in my eyes
As my blood slowly drips
Into a glass
That he casually sips

As he turns me around
Who could it be
Come to find out
My worst enemy… is me!
