True

By Jaded Jezzabelle

There isn't anything I wouldn't give
to get back to who I used to be
When the only person I depended on
was me
I know I can be a strain
and
at times your energy I drain
All my speculations and insinuations
impurities and insecurities
could drive the best of friends apart
but
you've stood by me from the start
Always having my back
ready and willing to attack
at the slightest provocation
and
I've come to the realization
that I recognize my reflection
in your eyes
because you see me as I truly am
Not really giving a damn
if what I do is wrong
You stand strong
never believing the hype
just kick on back
and
pass the pipe
Always giving me the benefit of the doubt
no matter what it is
Im trippin about
You still try to understand me
never underestimate me
or
my intellect
you've treated me with much respect
and
I'm lucky to have found in you
a frienship that has remained so true

This reminds me a lot of the close friendships that I have, and it feels so good to be able to have that, "I've come to the realization that I recognize my reflection in your eyes" Beautiful.. ~Dawn
