Careless Consequence

I'll sling you around
And follow you through the air.
Sinking as I stand
Watching you from there.

I'll turn away and focus
On everything but you.
The road ahead,
Or music in my head;
Some catchy little tune.

Unbeknownst to me
As you wreak havoc
And impart misery
On a life away from here.
A life apart from me
In the place I left you.
Forgotten in the forefront
With concern subdued.

Turnover of the old
In an attention shift.
Inanimate jealousy unfold,
Preying on the innocent.

Ignorance claimed me
As the destruction ensued,
But had I seen with my own
I would've taken you
To a place with absent trample
Where you could do no harm.
Where solidarity pursues
And few are found to abuse.

But blame claimed me
When I slung you around.
Standing with a stare
When you hit the ground.

You became a tempered peel
With a sinister appearance.
Poor souls were harmed
By a banana with a vengeance.
