Even God is Crying for Me

By Midnight Phoenix

A minister once told me “God has special plans for you”
My reply was a blank stare of disbelief, how unfaithful
Yet I somehow feel as though he was right
For the first time someone else noticed my inner glow

So self-righteous, yet faithless in this blink of existence
Though deeper than skin, but not without modesty
I choose walk the path alone, answering to no one
I will die for my own sins

Now God cries for me, his fantasies denied
Wondering why I didn’t accept the benefits package with this job
All I need is faith they say, but I need no Shepard
Because I see how sheep will play when God’s eyes are turned

I know in the end I’ll still find acceptance if I’m wrong
For my own sake, I hope I am wrong for that matter
But for now I will let this inner glow guide me
And hope to find others on this path

personaly, i do not believe in god, if he was anything like the bible and other people tell me then we would not be living in this shit hole of a world we live in, i believe we make our own paths by the desisions we make everyday.
