Casual Rage

By Kovine

How are we supposed to smile in the faces
Of the people that took our shit
It’s better off this way

How are we supposed to laugh
When it’s easier to do as your told
You barely have enough time

Drip, drip, drip, 1, 2, 3
Always measuring
Always counting

Quantity over quality
Give me more
So you can forget about how shitty the last one was.

Find solace in sleep
Take half to a full tablet every evening
Sometimes more

That’s okay, as long as you’re getting your work done
As long as you’re getting up in the morning
As long as your showering

As long as you consume the nonsense
And limit yourself to the cage you’ve been assigned.
Sit down. Shut up. Get to work.

Make it up as you go.
Find comfort in listening
You really don’t need to say something all the time

Fill yourself with noise
I know it’s hard to pour from an empty cup
But the fact the you’re still pouring

Means the meds are still working :~)
