Opening Act

By Madame Gothika

Crying behind a smiling mask,

arms chained behind my back.

A spectacle for all to see,

to get a kick out of my screams.

Gasping for air as I dance in despair,

only to drown inside my own fear.

I'm crying behind a smiling mask,

I scream but all they hear is laughs.

What some humans can endure is incredible. How some keep the smile and dance alive is remarkable. I am not saying it is good, especially if it is a mask. It is just remarkable. So I gues that mean I got a kick out of your scream? So be it, it is the opening act and a spectacle for all to see after all! Good write.
