Modern Poets
By God Is In The Rain
Like a quote from Nietzsche
used by angsty teen
we paint pages with "wisdoms"
world's already seen.
Hoping to raise numbers
hoping to do well
we're putting down new lines of
cringy clique hell.
And so to all the readers
daring to give shots -
We keep you in our prayers,
we keep you in our thoughts.

a wry smile on my face after reading this one, sir. Nicely observed and entirely true; also, i love the bite in this, and the well-constructed rhyme scheme. the curl of dark delight. Much appreciated.

Sounds convoluted. I'd like you to drive your point, home.

That's a skill you can practice in the comment section as well. Which is why, when there were more poets here such as yourself, there was more to be said. I think. Thanks for being someone with something worth saying. I usually have a lot to say... But could probably spend more time sorting between what is and isn't worth saying. Rofl

Readers? People read your poetry? I didn't even think that was even a thing anymore. Big flex, king. Queen? ...diety. Yeah, that's the ticket. Write in :D

Thank you for your comment. I am afraid I need advice myself when it comes to raising numbers. The work I've published yesterday was read by two people in total, and neither of them felt the need to praise nor criticize it in any way, and while I have to confess that higher numbers make me happy, I am content writing for those two people - even if I dont know them, even if they didnt like it, even if they will be someone completely different next time. The way I see it, with every work I write, the chances of me improving and, or writing something worth something increase - I take solice in that. Still, truth be told, I've quit writing so many times I might as well be smoking, so what do I know.
