Love Past.
By LittleMissScareAll
Smoke from a cigarette
Blood stained carpet
A sense of relief
All my problems that caused grief
Everything’s gone
Smoke from two cigarettes
Memories revived, emotion sheds
Our hands once entwined
Conversation flatlined
Our company alone
Smoke from a cigarette
Love contained in a gauntlet
Spilled over, your blood on the carpet

A wonderful poem that works on both a literal and metaphorical level. Is the protagonist a fantasist, a crazed killer or both? And never being able to find out is the X factor.

I'm just impressed you're a Misfits fan! Rock on girly! However I do enjoy the imagery, while short; it's vivid. Something I respect. Kudos!

I love the imagery, especially the cigarette image. I enjoy this one because it has a feel of reality and symbolism at the same time; very similar to Pink Floyd's "The Wall." I don't know if you intended it that way, but it sure is great. Thank you for sharing. :)
