Missa pro defunctis (Mass for the Dead)
By midnights voice
First there was Keith
Every morning he took a pill to wake up
Every evening he took the same pill to go to sleep
He went back to North Carolina
Got a brain tumor and died
Then Steve , whom I accused
of breaking into my apartment
went to Houston
Where he reported a disturbance
and the police came and gunned him down
Tommy , who was Keith's shadow
got sick and died
To this day I think it was aids
Mary , poor Mary ,
took someone home
who tied her to the refrigerator
and slit her throat
Tim was ratted on by a narc
and spent three years in jail
for selling a joint
He subleased my apartment
when I got married
Then he died six months later
from a heart attack
It kinda ran in his family
Now it's time for the
Requiem of Dead Souls
I put on some Black Sabbath
and play it loud

War Pigs... that song always made too much sense... MV, the older we get, the more we learn that surviving is just a celestial crap shoot... with snake eyes coming up all too often... well penned! ~worm~
