free bird

By Devil-lyn

we are coming to an end
my lovely friend...
so your feathered kisses
speak ~

and you think
we should stop speaking
of woes & foes
and lessen the ink
in our rose battered tattoos...
draining them
to the point
of [s]extinction ~

you think we should stop
strumming
those break heart blues
for you no longer desire
to hump my deltas
nor feel the acid[ic] of my rains
pummeling
against your blushing cheeks
that hold your mouth in place...
"a place"
you no longer desire
to speak my name
and where I should desire
the same...

true,
we were once
just a simple & casual
& leisurely stroll
through the park

and true,
we once fed our pigeons black
and cooed
beneath the striations
of eclipsing moons
'fore you became a free bird,
'fore I realized
& dramatized
that there was no longer room
left for me in your life...
in your mind,
you've taken [in] another wife
and fed her bed~crumbs
of diamonds & promises;

so tonight
as the luggage
drags across a terminals floor
I will stand out, ill sheltered
'neath a crumbling rain
seizing the count l e s s
of my drops tear'd ~

once collected,
I will bottle them up
~ one by one ~
in a swarovski crystal vase
and set them out
onto a windowsill
as daylight continues to bleak ~

in time,
I will add new soil,
a virgin seed
then watch you grow
into the sternest of a stalk
upon petals of pleading,
weeping bound l e s s
for me
to take you back.

but,
and,
as I said:     In Time

but
and,
for now:

i enjoyed the imagery in this one very much. "so tonight as the luggage drags across a terminals floor I will stand out, ill sheltered" - i could picture that scene quite clearly! well done! Ciao, T/S Scholar
