I've Got A Secret

By LovelyUndead

I have suppressed myself for a long time
Kept my thoughts at bay, kept secrets
Told lies, sewn my eyes shut from the world
I am ready to tell the truth
I’m ready to liquidate these secrets
They tug at my figurative heart strings
Like angels play the harp
Like demons strum the vessels of the damned
I have tried to keep myself in line
Been a good girl, been a good person
Kept the hurt away, kept the thoughts from play
But I am ready, to spill my words across the page
I cannot keep my mind from racing
All toward the same finish line
The same race, the same games, the same deceit
The truth… the whole truth…
Is that I am utterly surrounded by idiots

The truth can be a brutal thing and you've managed to portray it very passively. The feeling here you've captured strikes home and I'm certain I am not the only one feeling that way. Great work.

Nice way to let suspense take the lead. Such a great, thoughtful write. I love this.

Welcome home. You were here all the time. I just figured I'd say, hi. Amazing, by the way.
