That Thing You Do With Time
By NeroMatches
Like sunlight crept into a room
through window frames shaped
like your soul from many years ago,
You did that thing with time again
where you only had to stroke the
crystalline beads dangling from your bracelet
your lips curling serenely into a smile
as everything
starts to
slow
do
w
n
sometimes I can’t
remember
what I had been doing
before I met you
I’m pretty sure it had something to do
with knowing many things.
Like a Zen mantra written by
a barefooted monk who had probably
been ruing a lover lost
like all of us
but not me
not anymore.
You stand up
your thin body blocking
the light shining
from a crack
on the only curtains
that we bothered buying.
And I am home.

Don't know how this came in below the radar when you first posted it! Yes, indeed, you have been sorely missed! I love this piece, and ending is to die for. Sitting back, looking around, and realizing you are actually home and no longer need to search for it. Excellent! Ciao, T/S

Impressive. Internesting, original form and concept. Enticing to read with excellent word selection. Very well done indeed.
