Deathknight

By Ortolan

dreaded, he returns in name
mourning it bold, the withered hiatus
belt of gold, and lowly state
nuclear sunrise, burned eye pain

hated and bedraggled, the horse
the mummified knight is a statue
returning to town, to stand in force
the singular pallid mannequin monument

see the ghostly one, fog rolls in
delivery man caught a fatal glimpse
fear him the skeleton, children cringe
no one is leaving this town again
