Sunset Soirée
By nkronsch
With a fall wind flies change
Of leaves and lives
And a chill at the thought
of winter's rendezvous
The red and gold sunset
Punctures gray skies
In percolate tints
a desperate hue
A thought: Am I blind?
How can I not see
The earthbound beauty
Set before me?
A thought: Am I deaf?
How can I not hear
The soundtrack of life
It's harmonies clear?
But then it Dawns on me.
While She is present
All other Beauty falls dark.
All other Music falls flat.
We're young and in love
With the idea of love
Yet Infatuation's iron curtains
Blind us to the world
Impermanence is a blessing indeed.

I find sooth and solace in your works, alongside a deep calm wisdom. Great structure and beautiful words.

Wonderful piece! Love the symbolism and the ending is perfect - "We're young and in love With the idea of love"..."Impermanence is a blessing indeed." Boom! Ciao, T/S

A sobering conclusion here NK and perfect sense, although admittedly few will agree. Enjoyed the seasonal theme or metaphor, before the cold wind blew at Dawn.
