Let The Light In

By Artanis

She saw right through me like a window pane

And whispered hard truths

I wished myself deaf and shut her out

I closed my eyes and hoped to never see her again,

Once I opened the doors and let the lies back in.

But there she was in the mirror

Whispering,

Mouthing words i still would not understand.

“Can’t you see? I’ve changed!”

I could feel my lips moving and feel the chaos in my throat…

“No, listen to me….no, you’ll never understand…”

I heard her speak.

The voice was my own.

“I hear you now…so i’ll listen.”

I opened the door and let the light back in.
