Whispers in the Night

By andhaka

In the hollow crevice filled with darkness

Lay the cold, abandoned angel

The arch of every strand of gold

Sprawled around her like a mane

She rested in her tranquil slumber

Sleeping through the pain

The raven cried in a mourning call

Withered wings bloody

Dripping crimson from ebony

Tortured wails of deaths herald

Hark as the silence dies

Serenity of the foul night imperiled

Tempestuous winds whistle through leaves

Like shallow breathes of a fading stranger

Falling and rising in uneven rhythms

Entrancing the ghosts of gloom

Etching the stories of deceased into the sky

Carrying them away into my angels tomb
