Sleepless Nights And Bloodshot Eyes

 Bloodshot eyes and cracked lips
gleaming in the Darkness
beneath the stars

The bright light of Moon 
blinds
as my heart races

incoherent thoughts
replace dreams...
Dreams of reality

daylight burns
retinas behind
bloodshot eyes

eyes squinted 
shut
only for a second

a restless mind 
returns to
sleepless nights
