Whispering Clouds
By Meadowhawk
Come
Whisper the clouds
touch our graying cheeks
and let
your tears
mingle with ours
Step with sadness
through
the empty meadows
where wildflowers
used to gently sway
in
the breath
of a tickling breeze
a place
where butterflies
danced
like colored foxfire
their wings kissing the saphhire
sky
Tread with heavy heart
through the dark
and silent
forests
where songbirds once trilled
in acappella harmony
and fireflies drifted
in measured grace
like countless waltzing
stars
Gaze in woe
across the stagnant lakes
where
virgin swans
in snow white gowns
once slid in pairs
over
glistening sheets
of crystal blue
and sweet clear water
fell
like a diamond rain
from the face
of snow capped hills
Come
whisper the clouds
and weep

It was done one hundred years ago and is better now than yesterday, but the span of the life of a man is insignificant in the necessary repairs. Well done sir and so good to see a friend!
