Courage to fly
By Adam
Chip the egg it’s getting tight
Out I come to see the light
The big world I view for the first time
My mother bird’s protection
I seek for comfort
As the days go by the nest I explore
I see
my Mom fly all around the world
My life is safe here in my nest
But how do I enjoy life all around?
I know, I can fly like mom and
dad do
I just have to practice and then I can leave
But I am
scared of leaving so quick
Because I still have not found someone
to care for
I hear the jokes from the others behind my back
They
think I’m gay because I don’t have a mate
But gay I am not, though
nothing is wrong with that
I just can’t take rejection; it’s not
worth the risk
I’ve moved out my nest but still cannot fly
Because
I do not have the courage, if rejected I may just die.

Well, even if the world does not stand you, you'll find a way. Our passions overcome anyone's hate.

It's not easy facing the world sometimes, but at some point I hope you find the courage to withstand rejection. All those poor ladies that would be lucky to have you... - XXOO

Perfectly poignant and indeed the "Fear of Flying" is pervasive. The world outside my door is not the one of my youth, where individuality and adventure were admired and encouraged. We have become badgered into something less than what we were and what we should be. "Lay on MacDuff" and .damned be he who cries, "Hold, enough!" - cheers!
