A BASEBALL AND YOU…

By Regnhild

Here sits a baseball
There is a hat
Under the bed. against the wall
is where he hides his bat
The books in this room
are scattered about
left in place for him to resume
the chapters that have caused the wondering doubt
of who did it?
and if they will get away
But these things you will never see
You chose not too that day
When you left through that door
You made promises that you didn’t keep
and when you left four hearts were torn
not to be mended or healed; forever they will seep with the anguish that you caused and the wounds you continue to reopen
He came home today and I saw
just how much he needs a man on whom he can depend
All to soon he will be grown
Meeting life face to face
With a family all his own
What have I taught him in my haste?
of trying to recover and hold him together
Will he learn that life is to be enjoyed?
With a family that loves and supports him
or will he learned that he can run
it the first upset when things may appear dim
I hope I have taught him that he is his own strength
and that through love he can conquer anythingHe is one of my greatest feats and with joy and love for him my heart does sing
