Picnic Basket

By daiglepoems

 We're going on vacation!
Yay!
It's Glacier Park this year.
The rangers that at the station say,
"Bears eat people here".

Be careful not to feed them.
If chased you're not to run.
Don't ever let them get you treed,
and NEVER use a gun.

That just makes them mad.
Now, have a nice vacation.
We welcome you to Glacier Park's
fun and fascination.

The park is God's own wonderland.
Waterfalls and streams.
Proof that all along He planned
on drowning out the screams.

Incredible the view honey.
Just smell that mountain air.
So crisp, and clear, and...
Gee...
that's funny...
that looks like someone's hair.

And look!
A backpack!
Hiking boots!
How cool, a folding chair!
I can tell just by these roots
some lady fed a bear.

Plus the rest of her is missin'
'cept right there.
See the red?
That's what you get when you don't listen
the what the ranger said.

Oh Look!
A baby bear!
How cute.
I'll just have to pet it.
Well...
mama's looking resolute
and now we're going to get it.

So, before her wrath we do incur
anything you'd care to ask it?
Yes!
See if we can interest her
in this here picnic basket.

Reminds me of a sign somebody read in Yellowstone: don't use pepper spray on the bears because they really like their meat (you) well-spiced. Cheers!

hahaha, in Montana? I've been there, and yes, I had a run in with a grizzly.....I don't recommend it. Funny stuff. Certainly brings back memories. ~b

I love it when I can help someone laugh, although it got me kicked out of school.
